Alvin Martin, PhD, CPA

Principal, Tax Practice
Alvin Martin
We call him The Doc. With a Ph.D. in Accounting, Alvin Martin was a faculty member of both Seattle University and the University of Washington.

Leaving academia to set up his own accounting practice was a defining moment for Alvin. He launched his new business venture while supporting a family of five. The experience taught him the importance of carefully managing all aspects of a private company, including the personal finances of the founders’ families.

Over the years, Alvin’s experience as an entrepreneur has shaped much of his advice to his closely held and family business clients.

At Bader Martin, Alvin provides business consulting and tax planning services to closely held and family-owned businesses and their owners. His clients operate in a range of industries, with an emphasis in distribution, hospitality, professional services, retail and real estate.
